Entrepreneurship in Venezuela
Despite political upheaval and a prolonged recession, the seeds for entrepreneurism are being planted in Venezuela.. To reverse the economic cycle, Venezuela has implemented several programs to increase FDI and aid small businesses. Most Venezuelans participate in “social entrepreneurism” which involves changing the economical and political process by enabling one’s self financially. The recent coup d’etat has made foreign investors nervous of their investments in Venezuela. However, for many small business owners, entrepreneurism is the only alternative to poverty and strife.
